The Person Behind the Next Chapter

My work has always been shaped by what happens before a place is experienced.
For almost twenty years, I have worked across leading hotels, private institutions, foundations and cultural houses, much of that time in Amsterdam. The work was rarely visible from the outside, yet it decided how an arrival felt, whether an evening held together and whether the people involved knew what had to happen before anyone asked.
Last winter, in St Christoph am Arlberg near Lech, I was responsible for the day to day running of 25 internationally owned, privately held luxury apartments and chalets. Every home had its own owners, suppliers, routines and unresolved matters. My work was to prepare the homes for arrival, carry open issues forward and keep the people involved moving in the same direction.
In Mallorca, I now work with a deliberately small number of private estates, particularly in the period after acquisition, when a house has changed hands but still needs to find its place in the owner’s life. That may mean carrying a project forward, making sense of technical matters, putting household support in place or shaping a private stay around the home.
Owners speak with me directly. When a house, project or occasion requires more, I bring in the people suited to it while remaining close to the decisions, the work and the wider picture.
